Als wir im Urlaub waren, entdeckte ich in Innsbruck einen Sportalm-Laden und verliebte mich in die Dirndls aus geblümten Folklore-Stoffen und die Kombination von schwarz und leuchtenden Farben wie rot und grün. Stoffe dieser Art sind leider ziemlich schwer zu bekommen, also könnt ihr euch meine Freude vorstellen, als ich vor ein paar Tagen bei Oxfam einen Rock und eine Weste aus einem schwarzen Wollstoff mit bunten Blumen im gleichen Stil fand. Der Rock wanderte erstmal auf den Umarbeitungsstapel, aber ich machte mich gleich daran, die Weste auf meine Maße zu ändern und eine passende Ansteckblume zu häkeln. Ich bin ganz glücklich mit dem Ergebnis und kann es kaum abwarten, dieses Outfit mit einer schwarzen Strumpfhose und Stiefeln im Herbst zu tragen.

On our vacation, I spotted a Sportalm-shop in Innsbruck and fell in love with the floral folklore-patterns on cute dirndls and the combination of black and bright colors such as red and green. Unfortunately, fabrics like that are very hard to find, so you imagine how delighted I was when I came upon a skirt and a vest from a similiar woolen fabric at Oxfam some days ago. The skirt is still resting on my “rework”-pile, but I instantly started changing the vest to my measurements and crocheting a matching flower brooch. I’m really satisfied with the result and can barely wait to wear this outfit with black tights and boots in Winter!

Als ich vor einiger Zeit bei Plaid Pony Vintage dieses Kleid mit tollem Apfelmuster entdeckte, musste ich es einfach bestellen. Leider sah es getragen ziemlich unförmig aus und deswegen hatte ich es bloß ein paar Mal an. Die Lösung: ein Streifen elastischer Rippenjersey, den ich in der Taille einsetzte (eine Freundin half mir und markierte mit Stecknadeln die Position). Fazit: viel besser! So kann ich das Kleid im Sommer auch mal ohne Pulli drüber anziehen – wäre ja auch schade, diese lustigen Ärmel immer zu verstecken.

When I found this dress at Plaid Pony Vintage some time ago, I needed to have it: the apple pattern was just too cute. Unfortunately, it looked quite bulky on me, so I was only wearing it one or two times. The solution: I inserted a stripe of elastic rib jersey in the waist (a friend helped me to mark the position with pins). Now the dress looks way better than before and I can also wear it without a pullover overneath to show off the funny sleeves.

Meine Stimmung war heute wegen der Sonne und der vielen gut gelaunten Menschen eh schon super und dann fand ich im Wald auch noch ein “Buch auf Reisen” (www.bookcrossing.com). Was für ein Bombentag!

Since the sun was shining bright and everybody seemed so happy, I was in a good mood anyway today –  and then I even found a “travelling book” (www.bookcrossing.com). What a fantastic day!

Dieses Wochenende war wirklich schön: wir hatten eine Familienfeier auf dem Land und großartiges Frühlingswetter mit strahlend blauem Himmel. Das Kleid, das ich trug, hatte ich vor einiger Zeit bei eBay ersteigert. Am Freitag nahm ich mir endlich die Zeit, ein paar Änderungen daran vorzunehmen (ich arbeitete es an der Brust und den Seiten etwas enger und erneuerte den Handsaum) und so konnte ich es am Samstag gleich zu der Feier tragen. Gute Neuigkeiten: meine Kiste mit Dingen, die ich umarbeiten will, wird leerer und leerer  - und mein Kleiderschrank füllt sich mit immer mehr tollen Sachen, die mir super passen und gefallen!

This weekend was very nice: we had a family celebration in the countryside and fantastic Spring weather mit bright blue skies. I had bought this yellow dress on eBay some time ago. On Friday, I took the time to alter some things about it (I took it in on the chest and the sides and redid the hem with handstitches), so I could wear it on Saturday. Great news: my box of things I want to rework is getting more and more empty – and my wardrobe is getting filled with clothes that fit me really well and suit my taste!
