- Mexican dresses: I love the colors of the fabrics and embroidery of these dresses, it’s just something that really appeals to me. I’ve been searching for one for a very long time now, but still wasn’t successful. I will go on searching though, since I would love to have one by next spring. This one is from La Mariposa Imports.

 
- Folk scarves: The black version with flowers is my favourite and I would be happy to find one at a thrift store. I like that they can be worn in so many ways, one example is agathe’s ethnic-inspired look you can see here.

- This flickr-group: It’s about making christmas gifts yourself and i like it, because a) i love making gifts myself and b) one can’t start thinking about these things early enough.

- Poketo: Poketo is an e-shop that features great indie-designers. I love the tees and can’t wait till they finally sell this one by Anke Weckmann, one of my favourite artists.

- Regina Spektor: She – and of course her music – are just too wonderful too resist. After only having some songs on my computer, I’m looking forward to getting her album on my birthday next month.

- Everything handknit: From beautiful cowls to hats, scarfs and legwarmers: handknit things are just the prettiest. I finally have to start knitting seriously – or buying more things from shops like Yarn Over Movement.

- Ikea-fabrics: I love the the simple patterns and usage of some selected beautiful colors and that the fabrics are still so fun! By the way, we are going to Ikea today. I will show you what I found later.

1) cable knit: I’m into everything cable-knitted at the moment, because it looks so coarse and cute and the same time. I just ordered an eggplant cable beret from Yarn Over Movement and I’m looking forward to receiving it so much!

2) skirts out of fine/shiny fabrics: After a long time of only wearing simple (printed) cotton or cordury skirts, I like ones that are made out of more fine fabrics with a bit of a shine at the moment, for example satin or viscose, like these from H&M.

3) beautiful legwear: I’ve always loved colorful tights, legwarmers and socks and they never fail to cheer me up on a cold, grey day, especially when paired with a cute little dress or skirt. Favourite colors of the moment are mustard yellow, eggplant and petrol.

4) lace-up shoes: I’m in love with flats, low shoes, booties and boots with laces. I want booties for fall, but they are so hard to find in my size.

5) mix of natural & artifical materials: No matter whether in interior or fashion design – I always like this combination, for example wood and plastic. This beautiful picture is from the new Ikea-catalog that inspires me very much.

6) a good book & a cup of tea: Who doesn’t like these two on a cold, dark evening in fall or winter? I love flipping through inspirational books with lots of pictures just as much as reading a huge tome by an author I really like while drinking warm tea with a special taste. The next book I will be reading is this one I just thrifted – with short stories about autumn.

When we came back from our second vacation last Friday, we knew that autumn had arrived. People seemed to have lost their hope that summer would come back, were wearing warm jackets and some even hats and gloves. It was also raining and getting dark early. The days are colder now and you should always be wearing rain-resistant shoes and carrying a jacket or at least an umbrella with you. Autumn is my favourite season and I’m happy it’s finally here, but I think I still need some things to be completely ready for it, above all some rain-resistant booties, but also warmer dresses, skirts and things like leg-warmers, tights and socks to stay warm. I want to go shopping and thrifting!

Here are some pictures I took of heralds of autumn in the park and our garden. I like them, because they show that my favourite season is coming AND also my favourite colors for autumn: mustard yellow, all shades of red (raspberry red, wine red…), purple, light olive green, petrol/fir green and of course lots of neutrals like brown or grey.
