Das Jahr 2009 und somit auch das erste Jahrzehnt des neuen Jahrtausends neigen sich dem Ende zu. Es ist die Zeit, in der alle nachgrübeln über das, was war und das, was sein wird – ich natürlich auch. Nicht nur für mich persönlich (ich werde im Sommer meine Ausbildung abschließen und mich um einen Studienplatz bewerben), sondern auch für den Blog wird das neue Jahr ein paar Veränderungen bedeuten. 2010 möchte ich mich hier noch mehr mit günstiger, aber umweltfreundlicher Mode beschäftigen. Das heißt, dass es neben den üblichen Outfitbildern und Fotos von handgemachten Dingen viele Tipps geben wird, beispielweise zu “klugem” Einkaufen (z.B. in Secondhandläden), zum Umarbeiten und Umstylen alter Klamotten und Kleidertauschparties. Ich möchte euch inspirieren, bewusster zu konsumieren und vor allem: das zu nutzen, was schon vorhanden ist – in euren Kleiderschränken und den Altkleiderkisten dieser Welt. Und ich hoffe, dass das neue Modejahrzehnt eines wird, in dem selbstgemachte Dinge, Familienerbstücke und originelle Flohmarktfunde mehr zählen als der neueste Trend von H&M.

The year 2009 and the first decade of the new millennium draw to a close. It’s the time to think about what has been and what will be. I realized that the next year will bring quite some changes – not only for me (I will finish my training and apply for university this summer), but also for the blog. In 2010, I want to concentrate even more on affordable0, eco-friendly fashion. That means that – beside the usual outfit photos and pictures of handmade things – I will post many tips concerning that topic, for instance on “clever” shopping (e.g. in thrift stores), reworking and rewearing old garments and clothing swaps. I want to inspire you to consume more consciously and most of all: use what is already there – in your wardrobe and the charity bins of this world. And I hope that the new fashion decade will be one in which selfmade things, family heirlooms and original flea market finds will count more than the latest trend from H&M.

Das vierte Lichtlein brennt, die meisten Weihnachtspäckchen sind gepackt und ich bin richtig schön in Weihnachtsstimmung – so sehr, dass ich mich heute in rot und grün kleidete. Ich wünsche euch allen eine paar wunderbare Weihnachtstage mit euren Lieben und dass ihr zwischen den Jahren Zeit habt, ein bisschen zur Ruhe zu kommen!

We lighted the fourth candle on the advent wreath, most of the gifts are wrapped and I’m in the mood for Christmas – so much, that I dressed in red and green today. I hope you’ll all spend some wonderful Christmas days with your beloved ones and have some time to relax before the new year is coming!

Die letzten Tage waren hier bis zu -15°C und demzufolge trug ich viele viele warme Schichten, Röcke über Hosen und eine Menge Pullover und das war nicht immer sehr ansehnlich. Deshalb gibt es statt Outfitbildern ein paar Fotos von einem schönen E, das ich für die kleine Nichte einer Freundin genäht habe. Mir gefällt es sehr gut – ich mag die Farbkombination und werde wohl nächstes Jahr auch die eine oder andere Tasche aus diesen Stoffen nähen.

The last days, we had about -15°C, so I was wearing lots of warm layers, skirts over pants and lots of pullovers and that didn’t always look good. That’s why – instead of outfit photos – I’m posting some pictures of a beautiful E-pillow I made for a friend’s little niece. I like it very much, especially the color combination, and I guess I will also make the one or other bag from these fabrics next year.
